Khan Al-Khalily 14922

In the heart of Cairo, in one of its historic popular neighborhoods, lies Khan Al-Khalili district, which served as a refuge for the family of "Ahmed Afandi Aakef" after their decision to migrate from the Sakakini neighborhood due to the raids of World War II. Many events unfolded in which the family interacted with the neighborhood and its residents, through the character of "Ahmed Afandi Aakef", who couldn't join the Faculty of Law due to his father's dismissal from his job, so he became the breadwinner for the family. He obtained a job of the eighth rank and turned to books which became his world. His heart leaned towards his neighbor "Nawal", but he never took a step towards this inclination. Then his younger brother, "Rashdi", more youthful and vigorous, falls in love with her and they decide to marry. However, his contraction of tuberculosis forces his family to compel her to distance herself from him. The events end with his death and the family's departure to the Zaytoun neighborhood.
