The Minion Chamber is a medical device designed to better deliver a measured dose of medication to the lungs. The inhaler works most effectively when the patient is able to deliver the medication in a slow, controlled manner. Adding the chamber to an MDI (Metered Dose Inhaler) helps achieve this goal. The chamber is especially useful for children who would otherwise have difficulty using an inhaler. Advantages of using a chamber The chamber allows for more efficient use of the inhaler, which makes the whole process easier. Without the chamber, the patient must coordinate inhalation with pressing the inhaler button. The chamber prolongs the time of taking the active substance. The lungs absorb the drug more slowly and gently. Most of the aerosol reaches the lungs and respiratory tract. A chamber may be recommended by your doctor if there is a concern that too little medication is being delivered effectively.
