Betadine Ointment is a topical antiseptic medication containing povidone-iodine as its active ingredient. It is used to treat and prevent infections in minor cuts, scrapes, burns and other minor skin injuries. The ointment helps kill harmful bacteria while providing a protective barrier over wounds. The ointment should be applied to clean, dry skin 1-3 times daily or as directed by a healthcare provider. A thin layer should be spread over the affected area. The distinctive brown-red color indicates the presence of active iodine. Store at room temperature away from direct light and heat. For external use only.
