Mexo Ichthammol Ointment 10% USP is a topical medication containing ichthammol, known for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. This 25g ointment helps treat various skin conditions, reduces itching, and prevents excessive skin thickening while maintaining moisture balance. The ointment is indicated for treating insect bites, stings, boils, splinter removal, plant irritations like poison ivy, and minor skin infections including ingrown toenails. It should be used externally only and applied as directed by a physician. While generally safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, users should avoid eye contact and check for allergies to ingredients. The product may stain fabric, so protective covering is recommended.
